Coopers Plains Long Acres Fire Department, NY – September 20, 2016
“The local landfill was close to exceeding their quarterly tonnage limit. Due to this being a heavy load the driver was turned away and directed to a different landfill. The driver preceded down the hill en route to his new location. At the bottom of the hill there is a stop sign and a right hand turn. The weight was too much and the driver couldnt stop. He tried to make the wide turn but was not successful. He took out two transformers, several cable and telephone lines and two high voltage lines that supplied approximately 1,500-2,000 people. In the process the trailer also clipped a residents front porch. The driver self extricated and was unharmed. We used our Rescue 42 struts to shore up the porch so the trailer could be removed and uprighted.
These struts are multi purpose. They are easy to work with and do the job they are designed to do and then some. They are worth every penny.”
