Sacramento FD, CA – January 2, 2016

An early-morning vehicle accident in downtown Sacramento left a car impaled on metal poles with one person trapped inside. Truck and engine crews worked quickly to stabilize the vehicle before making entry to extricate the driver. Although not used very frequently, this video clearly shows the importance of stabilization jacks and the necessity to get them deployed safely and effectively. The driver was removed and transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
