CLIO -- It was a dramatic rescue Tuesday morning as crews pulled a man trapped in his car out from underneath a semi-truck.
NBC25's cameras were at the scene on Southbound I-75 between Clio and Birch Run around 6 a.m. after a semi tractor-trailer rolled over onto a car. The car landed in a ditch and the truck smashed on top of it. Amazingly, the driver of the car, Marc Keineth of Millington, was not killed. Keineth tells NBC25 he was able to send text messages while trapped in the vehicle.
Crews worked to get him out from the car, but were forced to drag the car out from beneath the semi-truck. The jaws of life were used to extract the crash victim. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital for evaulation. He is home now with a neck sprain, bruises and other minor injuries.
The interstate was closed for about an hour.
