Lyons Fire Department – Lyons, NY.

On Friday, February 17, 2006, Wayne County was hit with a wind storm producing winds up to 70 mph. At 08:24 hours Lyons Fire Rescue along with Lyons Town Ambulance was dispatched to a reported tractor rollover in the area of 696 Route 14. Engine 6, Squad 3 took the assignment under the direction of Chief Witt.

Upon Engine 6’s arrival, a tractor trailer was found on its side, in a field, on the north side of the road. The crew of Engine 6 found the operator pinned by the steering wheel. After stabilizing the tractor, extrication began with Captain DiSanto on the tool. After a short extrication period, the operator was turned over to the medics of LTA and transported to the local hospital with minor injuries.

I am the Fire Training Instructor for the Lyons Fire Department in Lyons New York. I have been in the fire service for the past 30 years. I found your product very easy to train with and extremely stable when deployed. I would like to thank you for your time in recognizing the Lyons Fire Department in your ad in the FireRescue Magizine. The plaque and the recognition afforded to our department has been well received by the members of the department. We work and train hard in the utilization of the stabilization struts to make our job eaiser and victims safer.
