LAKE OSWEGO — Firefighters cut driver out of the wreckage of a one-car crash that occurred on Southwest Southwood Drive Monday night.

The driver, whose name was not released because of federal privacy laws, was rushed by ambulance to OHSU Hospital. A condition report is not available.

Battalion Chief David Morris of the Lake Oswego Fire Department said firefighters were called to investigate the crash shortly after 9 p.m. They found a car balancing on its side against a sloping yard. A tree had been sheared off and the driver was unresponsive.

After calling for help by two additional fire crews, firefighters placed stabilization struts under the leaning car. Firefighters then used hydraulic extrication equipment to cut off the car’s roof, and the driver was removed to a waiting ambulance.
