Rollover Into Trees

Ingleside, IL – November 2016

A young man was airlifted to an area hospital after a single-vehicle rollover crash on Route 120 at Wilson Road where the vehicle went far off the roadway and into some trees in Ingleside. A deputy discovered the crash scene around 1:55 p.m. after the vehicle apparently went off the roadway and ended up upside down, said Lake County Sheriff’s Office Det. Christopher Covelli. The victim was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with critical injuries.

Fox Lake Fire Department personnel had to do an extended extraction from the vehicle, because it was on its roof on the side of a hill in some trees. After hitting a utility pole, the vehicle ended up about 75 yards from the roadway upside down. The car was very unstable so rescue crews chained the vehicle to a tree and then used rescue jacks to stabilize it. Rescuers entered through a rear window, but were able to get a passenger door open to pull the victim out.
